Lana Del Rey Earns Record Sixth No. 1 On Billboard’s Alternative Albums Chart

Prolific singer-songwriter Lana Del Rey has broken the record for the most No. 1s in the history of Billboard‘s Alternative Albums chart with her latest album Blue Banisters.

Blue Banisters debuted atop the Alternative Albums chart dated November 6, earning Del Rey her sixth No. 1 on the tally.

Del Rey has subsequently broken a three-way tie with Coldplay and Foo Fighters for the most No. 1s ever on the chart, which began in 2007.

However, it is worth noting that some of Foo Fighters’ and Coldplay’s most popular records came out prior to the launch of Billboard‘s Alternative Albums chart.

Del Rey first topped the chart with her debut album Born to Die in 2012, followed by 2015’s Honeymoon, 2017’s Lust for Life and 2019’s Norman F—ing Rockwell!

Billboard noted Blue Banisters is Del Rey’s second Alternative Albums No. 1 in 2021 alone after Chemtrails Over the Country Club topped the chart for a week in April.
